Beginning as the California Journal of Teacher Education in 1972, Teacher Education Quarterly (the title since 1983) is a peer-reviewed (double blind) journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and research by teacher education researchers and practitioners. The journal is sponsored by the California Council on Teacher Education (established 1945) and is part of the organization's overarching goal to improve the pre- and in-service education of teachers. The ecological perspective primarily uses ethnographic and qualitative methodology, in particular exploring the narratives or stories people create to make sense of the world and to create meaning.
